I need help figuring out what is wrong with my 88 pontiac grand prix. I have taken it to three mechanics and none of them can figure out the problem. The first problem was that it stalled out while driving-otherwise it drove great. It happened after a few days in the hot sun in traffic intermittantly. THe 1st mechanic changed the ecm and gave me a tune up. I still had the problem. the next mechanic (a pontiac specialist) spent three days "diagnosing it" and told me it would cost me $400 plus just to get the full diagnosis but he thought it was related to bad fuel injectors. I took it somehwhere else where the mechanics told me it ran fine and they could fix it unless it was broken. The did fix an idle problem (increased it). I drove it home to the country and now it won't start at all. I get spark to the ignition, the fuel pressure reads between 50-60..the car feels like it will start but just isn't get the gas. I suppose it is the fuel injectors but if that is the case I'll have to trash the cAR..is there anyone who has had similar problems who can narrow down any other possible problems? I have someone who can fix it if I do- but he doesn't know how to work on newer cars!!
THank you for your help!!!
