Regarding a 2001 chevy Astrovan AWD. ABS & Brake indicator light stays on occasionally after starting. If I turn vehicle off and restart, light usually goes off. Very intermittant. Sometimes only happens once every 5 or 6 days, sometimes more often. Wondering what the problem might be. Also with this problem, is it just the ABS that might not be working properly                                        &n bsp; /

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The first thing to do is to check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder resevoir for low level. If low refill and inspect brakes for wear and system for leaks.most shops do FREE brake inspections. If that's OK you will need to go get the codes retrieved from the computer. They will guide you to the problem.Remember, when the light is on it means you have regular (windshield)brakes which means when you hit the brakes you stop hard,no pulsing of the brakes to allow you to steer out of a sticky situation. Some people aprefer regular braking over the Anti-lock system and disconnect it just to have them.I however do not recommend this.
