Question

How do I get the clutch disengaged on a 2001 Ford 5-150?

Sent to Car Experts November 06, 2005 3:10 p.m.

The clutch appears to be stuck, the clutch pedal won't depress and therein the truck won't start. We replaced the slave cylinder about 7 months ago. The wife let the hydraulic fluid run out. There is a small rod that has pushed thru the outer transmission casing pushing out a small plug. It lies above the slave cylinder. It appears to be a safety device of some sort. I refilled the hydraulic fluid in hopes of something happening. I could not get a wrench on what I thought was a bleeder bolt. Please do not hesitate to email me if you need more information. I was hoping for an exploded view of the 5-speed tranny and componenets. What should be my plan of attack?

Optional Information: 2001 Ford F-150 v-6, 2. liter
Already Tried:
I sprayed wd-40 on that rod linkage and tried to get it to move inwards. I filled the reservoir and treied to get the clutch pedal to move. I moved the boot over the slave piston to see if something looked bad, no luck.
