1990-96 Vehicles

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

For 3.1L engines, perform the following:
-
Remove the serpentine drive belt.
-
Remove the alternator from the vehicle.
-
Detach the electrical connection(s) from the blower motor.

Disconnect the motor cooling tube.
-
Remove the motor retaining bolts/screws, then remove the motor and fan assembly.

On 1991-96 models, the blower motor and fan is serviced as an assembly.

If necessary, remove the nut from the blower motor shaft, then separate remove the fan from the motor.
To install:
-
Position the fan onto the blower motor shaft, then install the retaining nut.
-
Install the blower motor assembly, then secure with the retaining screws.
-
Connect the motor cooling tube.
-
Attach the electrical connection(s) to the blower motor.

On vehicles equipped with the 3.1L, perform the following:
-
Install the alternator.
-
Install the serpentine drive belt.
-
Connect the negative battery cable, then check for proper blower motor operation.
