i have a 1997 chevy silverado 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive automatic with a 305. just tonight i was driving down the road 55mph and my truck lost all power. i figured it to be the alternator the same thing happened about 5 years ago. well i changed the alternator it started and ran for about 3 seconds then died. i then figured it to be the fuel pump relay, i turned ignition on and didnt hear the usual whine coming from the fuel pump. well i replaced fuel pump relay with a new one. started truck and same result it ran for like 3 sec and died. i turned ignition off then back on and no familiar whine. checked relay and its fine. now if i wait 10 to 15 min and start truck it runs for about 3 sec and dies. i dont have a clue of what it could be, i'm hoping that its just a short or something minor, and nothing major or something to do with computer. please any advice or answers to what may be the cause for this problem will be greatly appreciated. thanks
