My windshield wipers to operate at all! How would I go about fixing that?

i had the same exact problem with my chevy pickup. what i did was tapped on my wiper motor which is under the hood, should be right up by the firewall,while the engine and wipers were on and my wipers worked for a short period of time. i replaced me wiper motor and never had another problem. hope this helped you.
