I have a 96 Cherokee, the CheckEngine light came on but nothing seemed wrong then i got onto the main road; 1st gear holds the rpms to about 3000, 2nd gear holds till about 3500rpm, 3rd and (OD) the same thing. then when i'm coming to a stop and finialy stop moving the vehicle shuts off. Now My cruis control is non-functional which was my first guess for malfunction. then i read about the (TPS) or Throttle Position Sencer And how its reading controles the (TCU) Transmittion Control Unit. Also am also suspicious of the Torque Converter malfunctioning.
I only have the Jeep for Transpertation and I'de like to keep the reliable rig, so if you have any coments or solutions, it would be much appreciated.                                  Customer (name blocked for privacy)@graffiti.net
