my clutch squeaks when i depress it

i have a 1995 dodge dakota 2.5 4cyl. engine 5 speed manual transmission, when i press the clutch there is a loud sqeaking sound that comes from under the hood. when i release the clutch the sound goes away or dimminishes, i can shift o.k. but tha sound is loud
