hello,
i am having a bit of trouble with the clutch of my '93 escort lx. at times, my clutch would engage itself even while pressed all the way down to the floor.
(i.e. from neutral to 1st) now it seems that i have to pump the clutch just to get it into gear. not sure if its losing pressure or what but something needs to be done. i do hope that this does not require another clutch replacement. (had it done last year) if anyone has any suggestions on what to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Optional Information: 1993 Ford Escort 1.9 ltr
Already Tried:
I had the clutch replaced last year.

First check the clutch slave cyl. resevoir for proper fluid level. Then follow the steel line from it down to the transmission and you will see a little bleeder fitting. If you know how to bleed the clutch slave cylinder do that now.Open the bleeder a 1/2 turn and have someone depress the clutch slowly to the floor and hold it while you tighten the fitting.Do this 3 or 4 times while keeping the slave resevoir full. You should have a good pedal after this procedure. If not and the fluid in the resevoir is going down you have a bad slave cyl.If the fluid level is ok you have a bad clutch assy.If the slave cyl is bad the Transmission has to come apart to fix it anyway.
