I have a 1992 for mustang with the 5.0 (auto) I am having starter trouble- got a brand new starter and fender relay. All I get is a click, but won't turn over. I checked all that I could with the multimeter- I am getting 12 volts from the battery all the way to the starter. Battery, relay, wiring, and starter all tested good. Chilton's says check the fuse??? Which fuse? Is there another fuse block besides the one under the steering column? maybe I have it hooked up wrong. I have the fat black wire (I think it should be the 12v constant lead) hooked up to the coil where the battery is also hooked up. I have the small, red wire- which is the 12v accessory lead hooked up on the other side(right side as you look at it) I am pretty sure that its hooked up right. What gives? Any pictures or diagrams would be a world of hlep- especially if they show me the "fuses or Fused Linkages" that Chilton's talks about. Thanks alot, Brian
Already Tried:
tested the leads from the battery through the starter, bench tested the starter at auto zone (works) made sure that all the conecters were on well. I do get a check engine and check oil light, but shouldn't keep the engine from turning over I don't think.
