Question

The brake lights don't work when I hook them up to my tra...

Sent to Car Experts October 16, 2005 9:01 p.m.

When I hook up my trailer lights to my boat all the correct lights function on the trailer except when I apply the brakes. I do know it is a problem with my car, not my trailor for my boat. All of the brake lights work on the 1996 Jeep grand cherokee. Is it just something in the wiring maybe or a short. Please help

I believe it is a factory towing package. It is a 4 way flat rubber connecter and everything looks like it should work. There are two taillights on the back of the trailor. The lights flash with the blinkers and come on when you turn the headlights on.
