1996 Chevy S-10 4X4. RF hub is partially engaged (or trying to engage) while driving in 2WD. This problem began while driving in 2WD and it suddenlt started making a "growling" noise when slowing to low speeds. When the 4X4 button is pressed it engages to 4 wheel as normal, but when it is prssed to disengage back to 2WD it makes the noise, and you can feel it pulling as it is still in (or partially) in 4 wheel. The nois almost seems to be coming from the front right, not neccesarily the differential housing in the center. The dash switch tested to be good, and the transfer case switch seems to be okay as well, Everything seems to point to the actuator and/ or switch in the front diff. Any feed on this? Thanks!
