LOST POWER
Sent to Car Experts September 11 10:37 PM

hi, my 91 pickup is loosing power when under a load. It bucks and with the accelerator to the floor it looses power completely. After pulling over and resting for a minute or two nearly full power is restored for about 10 minutes then the cycle repeats. The engine was rebuilt in the last 20k miles and the clutch was replaced at the same time. It has the original differential at 225,000 miles. The fuel was drained but any sediment may still be in the tank and the fuel filter has under 10k on it. What could the issue be - a bad differential?

Reply to Gene's Post: 91 Ford Ranger Pickup. Not certain what more you need since you did not request specific information other than that provided. The vehicle chugs under a load and looses power with the accelerator wide open. My thinking is the Differential is laboring causing a back force in the drive train. There is no noise from the Differential.
