how do you replace rear end seal on 85 blazer

trying to replace rear end seal and can not figure out how to remove axle lock clip.

Fig. 4: Clean all dirt or corrosion from the differential housing and cover in order to prevent contamination

Fig. 5: Loosen and remove the cover retaining bolts, then carefully break the gasket seal allowing oil to drain

Fig. 6: Once the fluid has drained, remove the cover from the differential housing

Fig. 7: Loosen pinion shaft lockscrew

Fig. 8: Remove the lock screw in order to free the pinion shaft

Fig. 9: Once the shaft is freed, withdraw it from the differential

Fig. 10: Remove the C-lock in order to free the axle shaft

Fig. 11: Remove the shaft by pulling it straight back and from the housing tube

Fig. 12: If necessary, remove the old seal using a prybar, but be careful not to damage the sealing surface
