Sent to Car Experts September 09, 2005 10:36 p.m.

hi i have a bmw 535i is a 1989 i want to replace the clutch i took all the screws and all the pieces around the transmission & the transmission is loose but seems to be jammed and wont come out what am i doing wrong? We took the starter out and all the rods & connections (wires,Exhaust,) But through the hole of the starter came out pieces of clutch when i put my finger in there. We used a crowbar to try & crank it to seperate, but it only opened about a 1/4 inch. Any solution to my problem? Thank you            Angel

Try to lift up the engine.Make sure once again all the bolts are loose. You might have pieces of metal from clutch who are stuck between the flyweel and transmission. So lift up and down the engine ,and it has to come off!If pieces of metal are stuck, you will have to push harder, and after you lift up the engine try to twist left and right the transmission, wile you are pusing the transmission outwards.
