How do you know the fuel pump is fine? Have you checked the pressure and flow rate at 2000 rpm? It could also be the mechanical advance it the distributor is frozen and notsetting the timing up for higher rpms. It could also be a bad float valve in the carb and it is allowing it to flood at the high fuel pressure if the pump is good. Also the coil or balast resistor could be breaking down at the higher rpm due to greater volage form the charging system.

Glad to be of service.
