Non Starter

I have a 1991Chevy Lumina APV. I have replaced the Ignition Coil, ECM, and the feul pump. When it starts and runs, it runs very well. If you can get it started. It seems like after it gets warmed up to operating temp. and you shut it off it wont start again for awhile . It will just turn over and over, sometimes it will be a day or two before it will start again. Other times it will only be half an hour. Could it be as simple as a cap and rotor or the pick up inside the distributor?

REPLIED Check Mark

You need to first test a few functions during the failure.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester.
2) Test for injecter pulse using a small bulb called a noid light.
3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

Here's what the noid light looks like.

O.K. ran the test! When the vehicle wont start. there is no feul injector pulse or spark. For what ever reason the vehicle will start and every thing checks out fine. Checked the ground from Body to engine and Battery to body, replaced ground from body to engine. Still wont start today. Yesterday it ran fine.

I called the Auto Parts Store for the part. They said they didn't have a listing for one and didn't believe that pareticular vehicle had one.

I'll do that.
Do I need any special tools for this project? Does the crank sensor need to be calibrated or dialed in with any kind of meter, or anything like that?

I searched all around the balancer and didn't find it there. I haven't searched the block yet. You wouldn't happen to have a diagram for this would you?
