No turn, tail, back-up, emergency, stop lights. Towed u-haul trailer. left side turn indicator began blinking rapidly inside. bulbs seemed ok outside. Then replaced flasher with heavy duty for towing. Then no lights at all as above. Tried old flasher again, still nothing. 15 amp tail lamp, brake switch fuse fuse keeps blowing. Help!

Does it blow without the trailer plugged in?

Yes I and I went to Auto Discount and asked if a relay might be the problem, but they figured not.

If it's blowing the fuse only when the trailer is hooked up then either there is a short in the trailer or the plug is not wired to match yours.

As I said, it blows when the trailer is not hooked up (we returned the trailer some weeks ago)

Sorry, II misunderstood your answer.

You have a short is the power supply to the rear lights. The obvious suspect would be something in the rear that you were just messing with. Check your trailer hookup and make sure it didn't get chaafed or shorted to the frame somewhere. If you can't see anything. try to isolate it to the rear by unplugging the many harness for the rear lights and see if it blows then. I suspect it will be in the rear somewhere.

Thank you, I have checked the trailer wiring connector; it needed cleaning, but still did not help. Your idea of checking by unplugging the rear light harnesses is next!

I bought a new flasher from Ford and it turned out to fix the problem! Thanks, Barry
