A/C Repair
Sent to Car Experts August 03 07:24 AM

I have a 2000 S70 Volvo, the A/C is out, leak at the evaporator. When replacing the evaporator, should I replace the dryer as well? The cost for the repair (w/o) dryer is $1500, is this reasonable?

(The system was charged 2 months ago with dye+freon; it has leaked out.)

Yes, definately change the dryer also. That is a dessicant bag that is a drying agent to absorb moisture in the system. Once the system is opened, it's not much help any more.
