1990 s10 blazer ignition wirs crossed

i changed the ignition wires ,cap, rotor and plugs on my 1990 s10 blazer. it has a 4.3 liter v6 . i might have installed the wires inthe wrong order. when looking at the distributer cap, where is the #1 ignition terminal located . i looked on the inside of the cap and there is a number 1 . is that the #1 terminal by any chance.

Reply to Hammer Time's Post: i have a Haynes repair manual and the diaghram above is for 2.8l V6 engine. i tried installing the wires per the above diaghram and it still does start the engine. it just turns over and backfires.
