2001 Ford Escape engine check light came on after I changed the sparks, air filter and oil, 77,000 on it.

You'll have to get the codes read to find out what put it on and clear it. Did you happen to turn the key on before you pluggged the sensor in the air filter back in?

I unlached the filter housing and removed the old one and slide in the new one and locked the filter back down.
