mazda brake lights

Hello my daughter who is s college student owns a 1995 mazda 626. The brake lights will not work, she has checked the fuse no problem. A repair shop said it could be the wiring. We need help, i can"t at this time afford a high repair bill. and she is student looking for work, i am in   ca,she in atlanta. I am concerned for her safety. That's an important factor. When you find out, I will give you instructions on how to test it. They will need a 12v testlight and a couple of small sockets.
