If you can't visually see any damage or problem with the wheel sensors, then you will have to get the computer scanned for codes as it stored a code when the light went on and that will point you in the right direction for the problem.

thank you for the response, however, this seems to be a very vague and obvious next step. unfortunately, it doesn't actually help me out at all

It may be vague and it may be obvious but it is the ONLY next step. I can read the codes for you and I can't tell you what's wrong without them. You are going to have to pay someone to scan it for you. There is no other way. That's what I would have to do if i were fixing it. If your just looking for a shorcut, there isn't one if you don't see obvious damage to a sensor.
