I have a 1989 700r4 trans. Ijust put in trans number2 after about 500 mi. the trans shift hard into 2nd and won,t shift into drive untill you get to 40 mph had new fluid and traat to do nextns screen put in doe,s any body know wh

Are we talking used transmissions, or reman units here? What was the original failure? Also, knowing the make, model, & year of the vehicle could be very helpful, as far as looking up diagnostic and service procedures for you; the various models of 700R4 / 4L80 transmissions have some internal differences and not all will interchange with each other and work well...

Reply to Steve7654's Post: It,s a used trans. Original problem we were going about 70 mph cruise on trans sounder like it sliped out of drive pulled over fluid full not fried only had 1st. gear.1988 GMC 1/2 ton exteded cab short box 350 motor 247000 miles.
