trailor lights hook up to pickup

I have a 1997 nissan kingcab, I rented a trailor and cannot figure out how to hook up the lights... the dealer did not know how, any help ? It appears that the lights are totally incased, no way to go under or inside the bed to hook them into the truck.... please help.... single mom trying to self move :(
