How do I remove the calipers on a 1989 Ford F-150 4WD truck?
Sent to Car Experts May 12 08:25 PM

I ordered a set of disc brakes for my 1989 Ford F-150 truck and i don't see any bolts to remove the calipers..I have done several brake jobs before however I never seen anything like this on a ford P/U truck. It looks like they are held on with some kind of metal clips or something likethat. Please let me nknow how to start to remove the clips.thanks, Jay

The calipers are retained by metal pins with rubber inserts that the calipers slide on; just take a small ahmmer and a punch and tap ont eh ends of tehm, and they will slide out. Seems kiind of a cheesy system, but it seems to work fine!
