i have a chevy liter cid engine in a ton silverado
Sent to Car Experts January 04 11:27 PM

I have a chevy 7.4 liter 454 cid engine in a 1989 1 ton Silverado and it's running like crap. I change the plugs, the distrbutor cap , the rotor, the spark plug wires, the module, and I have a new coil but cannot get the screws off of the old coil , since they have no srew heads or bolt heads.
My understanding is that the firing order is 18436572.
I have been told that facing the truck from the front that the left side of the engine from radiator to fire wall has cylinders 1,3,5,and 7
and that the rignt side of the engine from radiator to fire wall has cylinders
2,4,6, and 8.

#1 Is this true
#2 Which direction does the rotor turn in the distributor? Clockwise or counter clockwise?
The current order of my plug wires, and I replaced them one at a time, appears to be 1,8,6,5,4,2,7,3.
The other thing is that if the 1 and 8 are in order then my distributor is turning counterclockwise.
Please advise ASAP, as I am stranded until my truck runs.
