I have a 2002 escort that is firing on the #4 cylinder only. Cail and spark plugs have been replaced. Any ideas what would cause this?

There is not a module on the 2002 escort. It has a crankshaft sensor and a camshaft sensor but the manual I have says there is no module and the parts lists I have do not list a module.
