spark overheating firing engine

ive got a 93 sunbird with the foreighn engine with ohc. the2nd plug from the right isnt firing ,i checked the wire and its good.this all started after a overheating. now its running hot after short drives,maybe 5 miles or so. im wondering if the head gasket blew or possibly the spark plug is dead and its causing the engine to overwork causing it to run hot please help
