CHEVY CORVETTE

I JUST TUNED MY 1972 CHEVY CORVETTE AND IT WILL NOT START. I THINK THE SPARK PLUG WIRES MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN MIXED UP ON THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP. I NOT SURE WHAT THE FIRING ORDER IS. I CHECKED THE SERVICE MANUEL AND PUT THE WIRES ON IN THE ORDER IT HAS. I PUT A NEW DIST CAP, ROTOR AND POINTS IN ALONG WITH NEW PLUGS AND OIL AND FILTER.

Reply to Marc's Post: DOES THE ORDER SHOWN ON THE DIAGRAM LOOK THE SAME AS YOU FACE THE ENGINE OR IS IT OFFSET TO THE LEFT

I'm not really sure what you are asking but if you will, Notice at the bottom of diagram it says front of engine.

The #1 wire goes in the distributor hole closest it the number one cylinder.Provided that the distributor has not been removed and reinstalled in a different position at some point in time.

If you have any other questions please feel free to post back I will be happy to help.

Reply to Marc's Post: IT STILL WON'T START OR EVEN TURN OVER NOW. IT SEEMS TO STOP TURNING OVER WHEN I TURN THE KEY. I KNOW IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TIMING
