I am trying to locate the paint code for my 1978 Suburban.

I am trying to locate the paint code for my 1978 Suburban. It appears to be a tan or maybe off yellow over antique white. I've checked with dealerships and on-line sources to no avail. Maybe you can help me.

The service parts identification plate, commonly known as the option list, is usually located on the inside of the glove compartment door. On some trucks, you may have to look for it on an inner fender panel.
The plate lists the vehicle serial number, wheelbase, all Regular Production Options (RPOs) and all special equipment, including the paint code.

Do you have to remove the liner in the glove box in order to see this parts tag? I've already searched the fender panels,under hood, door frames,firewall next to brake booster. and every other spot I can think of and still cannot find it. The only plate I can find is the VIN plate on the driver side door post.

Do you have any Code Numbers in the Glove Box that may be stuck to the inside door, or under Hood on the Firewall or Front Radiator Frame?

I finally gave up on finding the paint code. I took the glove box door to a paint shop yesterday and had them match the color. Thanks for your help.
