I have a 1977 corvette and I am the original owner and still love the car.   the car is running beautifully but the shocks need replacing.   A friend who restores corvettes in Fort Lauderdale for a living recommended Monroe sensormatic, or something like that, yet my corvette shop recommends the billstein gas filled shocks.   I want the best ride possible.   I am not into performance but I just enjoy driving the car around town.   I don't mind spending the money, if it is really worth it.   Please advise.

Monroe for ride, Billstein for performance. The Monroe is more sensitive to ride quality, the Billstein are stiffer and built more for handling characteristics and race type stuff.
