The steering column is loose internally, by that I mean that it move around when either extended or retracted and locked in both positions. I was planning to remove the column and adjust, rebuild or what ever it take to stop the unwanted movement. When I say movement I mean up/down and side to side. I have the factory/after market manuals but no where near what I'm needing. Thanks for your time.

Here you are, After you get in there far enough you will find 4 screws that neeb to be tightened to stop the movement. Good luck my friend,,,you will need a little patience for this job......

  • Disconnect the battery ground cable.

  • Pry off the horn cap with a suitable prytool.

  • Remove the steering shaft nut and washer.

  • Install a wheel puller in the two threaded holes provided. Remove the steering wheel.

  • Remove the C-ring plastic retainer, if so equipped.

Install the special lockplate compressing tool over the steering shaft. Position a 5/16 in. nut under each tool leg and reinstall the star screw to prevent the shaft from moving.

Compress the lockplate by turning the shaft nut clockwise until the C-ring can be removed.

Remove the tool and lift out the lockplate, horn contact carrier, and the upper bearing preload spring.

Pull the turn signal switch connector out of the mast jacket to make some slack in the harness

Unscrew the turn signal lever. Push the flasher in and unscrew it.

Position the turn signal and shifter housing in Low position. Pull the switch out about 2-3 inches by pulling it straight up while guiding the wiring harness up the housing to make a little slack so you can move it just far enough to get to the four screws that you need to tighten.
