Sent to Chevy Experts November 13, 2006 5:19 p.m.

I have a 1971 Corvette and am looking for the real answer of my engine. the code is V0507CJK. The label that is under the hood say's it's a 350/330hp. Chilton's say's the same, but Motor's say's it's a 350/270HP. Can you or do you have another way to make sure what I have? Thanks for the help, Gary

That's fine, but was this a fluke? Because I was told that only the LT-1 package had this motor with a holly carb and a 4spd. Mine is a numbers matching car with rochester carb and an automatic. I was hoping for more of an answer.

Hello Gary,

I hope the following information will help to answer the questions that you have. After a lot of research here is what I have been able to find for you so far. Following is a break down of the motor numbers you gave and the next post will have some other information you may find useful. I'm sorry your question was not a little more specific as to what it was that you wanted to know. But I would guess that the engine, transmission combination you have was not a fluke, as this combination was also available in the Chevelle and Monte line up as well.

RPT - LT1 was the 330 HP version, and it could be combined with either a regular close ratio 4 speed or the heavy duty close ratio 4 speed, as well as the automatic. The regular 350 was the 270 HP version,these were built in St. Louis. Following is a break down of the motor numbers.

V = Flint, Michigan

05 = May

07 = 7th day

CJK = 1971 - 350 turbo - LT1 - 4 barrel - Vette / Chevelle / Monte Carlo Applications.

I am going to ad another post with some build numbers and other information that may be useful to you. If you have other or more specific questions, just drop a note.
