Did you prime the pump before installing ?

Never install a pump dry it should be filled with a heavy oil such as 90 w gear oil and lines filled also (if possible) Backhoes have circulating hydraulic systems so they should be self priming once the pump starts a suction ,but if the pump is dry you will never get it to start picking up oil.

i did what you said and its still not working. i also disconnected the line that comes out of the pump to see if there was still the blue cap so no dirt goes in it while shipping. i took it out the first time...i guess i just had to make sure once again.i put it all back together and filled the tank all the way up so it went past the over fill, i made sure the feed hose was totally filled. i started it up and opened the line up the comes out of the pump. the fluid came out but didnt have that much preasure. and the fill hose cgoing into the pump was still sucking its way closed...if you can, please call me at 607 588 5340...or can i call you...thx...i need your help....
