what is the steering part on a 1970 e 300 that is bolted to the crossmember under the motor,the right and left tierods bolt onto it and a rod from the steering box also bolts onto it,thanks ray

It is called a bell crank.

It looks like about the only thing available is a pin and bushing set for it and they are calling it a idler arm on most of the sites. It is a trw part #18774 and that is a common # for most brands. Advance Auto parts online store shows it to still be available. Idler arm bushing kit You may be able to go to local parts store and order it also with the part # Biggest thing to remember is that this is just a rebushing kit if the idler arm/bell crank is worn then this will not fix it but if just the bushing are worn then this will take care of it for you.
