1996 circus for 4yrs the odometer & tacometer work for ...

1996 circus for 4yrs the odometer & tacometer work for 3/4 months ok. then they don't start on till we go 10 to 20 miles or more? the odometer keeps the correct milage & the speedometer works ok all the time.i had it in for serive they took the whole dash apart tighten all the plugs & it was ok for 3 months. can i get a wiring digarm for those 2 components? they also said let TRY to replacing the dash. when they aren't working the & the dash lights arenot on full the speedometer isn't smooth its jumpy,if they are on full its smooth.

Tony, your suggestion sounds a good possibility but unfortunately we were unable to print the diagrams. They were too big. Could you possibly mail us the diagrams? Please let me know if that is possible. If so I will give you my address. Thanks for your help!

I shrank the diagrams down alittle, that should work now..

I also have been given some information from steve7654 about what he has seen with simaler problems, this is what he said- 99% of the time the combination of symptoms they are experiencing is due to a defective instrument cluster printed circuit board. The board is available from Chrysler for around $95 or so separately from the rest if the instrument cluster. We (and also our local dodge dealer) have fixed several vehicles with this set of symptoms by replacing the board.
There is a self test routine they can have run with a DRB to check IPC response also if they want to double check to make sure it is in the IPC.
