I have a 2003 Chrysler Sebring. Recently in the past 3 days the horn starts blowing on its own when I turn off the car. Sometimes it waits till I open my door... others it just starts right when I take the key out. Now it is blowing even when I start the engine as well. The only way I can get it to stop is to turn the car back on and then off again. This happened last year in December as well... perhaps it doesn't like the cold weather but I don't know how to stop it and it is extremely embarrassing.

Hello

It sounds like the horn may be part of the security package and the relays etc. used in connection have either moisture or condensation which freezes in cold weather creating all kinds of havoc. Have your shop trace out the system and check for any relays or electrical components related to the system that my be getting wet to short out the system

It could be the horn relay if there is one in the circuit. I am trying to provide you with some information to explain this problem to your local shop.

Good Luck!

Dan

Dan,
Thank you for answering...one of my biggest problems is if I take it to the shop, they will charge me $75 just to look at it and then of course charge me to fix it. I am a single mom and recently divorced and do not have the extra money for that. Is there anyway I can just disconnect the horn?
