1994 Chrysler Lebaron GTC convertible with a V6.

1994 Chrysler Lebaron GTC convertible with a V6. How do I replace the serpentine belt? I have done this job before on a 1990 Lebaron V6 but the design is different on the newer model. I cannot figure out how to release the tension.Already Tried: I'm considering cutting the old belt. Then maybe I can see how the tensioner works. What do you think? Can the job be done from above? I have no lift.

can you show me exactly where the square hole is for the breaker bar? The top picture doesn't show it and it's not clear in the bottom one.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

There are no illustrations in the manuals that show the exact pinpoint location of the square hole; it will be located in the tensioner arm (the arm is only about 3 inches long, so that narrows it down quite a bit). The lower illustration shows the breaker bar in position, perhaps that might be helpful.

If you still cannot see how the arm rotates, it might be helpful to jack up the right side of the car, remove the RF tire and belt splash cover, which will allow you to see the entire bottom section of the belts...
