ecm code needed? 99 jeep

just had the ECM replaced in a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and now it won't stay started and it shows a circle with a line through it with a key in the circle (like it's saying no key or wrong key). What causes this and what do we do to fix it, the mechanic still has the Jeep so I need to know ASAP so he can finish the job.
