I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 w/ the 5.2L engine. The problem is that the engine knocks very loudly when under load. I live 3,500 feet up on a mountain side and commute down to sea level often. I use 87 octane fuel but i would not expect such loud knocking just from that. the bigger the load on the engine, the louder it knocks. I go up the hill at 2500 rpms in fourth gear and it still knocks like a deisel. Is it a valve job or just poor fuel? Also i have wired the plugs correctly like all good chrysler engine owners should. Please help....black finger
