I have a 1999 ford ranger.. I had trouble starting it, it would take about five cranks to start, and I had a check engine light on. Took it to a local guy and he first replaced a sensor which took care of that problem. When I went to pick up the truck it wouldn’t start at all.. One guy checked the spark from the coil and stated there was no spark.. after four days the owner said they replace the Crank & camshaft position sensors. But he was so concerned about the anti-theft system, saying this was the problem due to a chip in the key. I was speaking with a friend and he said I just needed to turn the key around and the truck would have started.. Just asking if you have ever heard of this problem and was it just the key needing to be turned around.. I was charged $178.07 for the Cam sensor
