1994 chevrolet caprice classic

I have a 1994 chev caprice classic that is a retired police cruiser. It has a 5.7 litre engine and has an automatic transmission. Here is the problem. Just recently the engine will die after a short run time and then when you try to start it again it will not start for some time (a couple of minutes) then the car will start as if nothing is wrong.Please give me some info on what the problem could be.

Hello

Sounds like ignition but what I would do is have a spark tester and a fuel gage available to test the problem when it occurs. Does check engine light ever come on??

Ok you need to use spark tester and fuel pressure gage. You may be able to get from autuo parts store for a minimum deposit to use .or purchase but for a mimimal charge. Check Autozone Advance O'reilly's etc. Let me know I am here to help
