I had the following items done to the vehicle in the past month or so: Major tune-up which included new plugs, plug wires, fuel filter air filter. I also put in a can of fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank., I had a transmission computer quick learn done. Also a new battery from Pep Boys and they informed me that the alternator and starter was AOK. What do I do now?

You'll need to have the throtle bore cleaned and throtle blade, along with the IAC ports. Then a idle relearn done. This is best done at the dealer, but any facility equipped with factory level scan tools can perform the work. The problem is that carbon builds up on the throtle bore, and increases the amount of air entering the intake, which in turn reduces minimum air flow setting for the PCM (computer). This confusion will cause the PCM to incorrectly control idle and fuel mixture under the correct circumstances, and resulting in announced stalling. If the Check Engine Lamp has illuminated, the above procedure should be done after obtaining the diagnostic code and repairing it.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Yes, as stated above, if the lamp is not illuminated, the procedures should be followed to correct the minimum airflow. If the lamp is ON, this entails a computer control malfunction and the lamp needs to be diagnosed before continuing with the cleaning.

Greetings! I think u have a lazy or bad oxygen sensor. The heated oxygen sensor is very important to control not only the cars emissions but it also helps the vehicals performance! If it is not working properly it can result in a number of problems like rough running stalling hesitating bucking and jerking. But more common than that if it is lazy, the cars gas miledge can drop considerably, and sometimes not even set a check engine light on the dash!
The fuel control Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 1) is mounted in the exhaust manifold where it can monitor the oxygen content of the exhaust gas stream. The oxygen present in the exhaust gas reacts with the sensor to produce a voltage output. This voltage should constantly fluctuate from approximately 100 mV (high oxygen content - lean mixture) to 900 mV (low oxygen content - rich mixture). The heated oxygen sensor voltage can be monitored with a scan tool. By monitoring the voltage output of the oxygen sensor, the PCM calculates what fuel mixture command to give to the injectors (lean mixture-low HO2S voltage = rich command, rich mixture-high HO2S voltage = lean command
In the first post the recomendation was a good one but along with cleaning the iac ports, I would rec to replace the IAC motor. This motor gets lazy causing a stalling condition.
