I have an '88 Honda Civic with 175,000 miles on it. It runs great, except when I get above about 55 mph or so, the engine will act like it keeps shifting back and forth from gears and it will do this for about 30 seconds and then the check engine light will come on and the engine will quit doing it, but the car will be reving a bit higher. The light stays on until i shut the car off and when i turn it back on, it is off. In my uneducated opinion, it seems like an intake problem or maybe even an oxygen sensor.
It has a new radiator and thermostat.
any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Casey
