You can not access the codes without a scan tool,If you have a auto zone or advance auto parts store near you they will hook up a scanner and read the codes for you.They do this at no charge to you.They will also tell you what codes they are reading from the scanner

Thanks. I was under the impression I could jump the pins, turn on the key, and get a code readout like what I was told to do if I had an OB1 diagnostic connection. Was I told right about the OB1?
