94 jimmy hestitating with accleration after letting off gas ...

94 jimmy hestitating with accleration after letting off gas stops recently replaced fuel pump and sending unit also just replaced distributor cap and rotor still not accerlerating correctly any ideas

1994 GMC jimmy vortex

Already Tried:
fuel pump and sending unit replaced about a month ago /today replaced distributor cap and rotor.

Reply to Hammer Time's Post: seems like miss firing thats why replaced distributor cap and rotor starts fine idles ok has hard time accelerating cruise speed ok for awhile but if try to increase speed hestitation occurs then ok

The plugs and wires are much more likely than the cap and rotor for causing that.

You could also have a messed up injecter but you need to eliminate the ignition first.

Finding which cylinders are missing would be very helpful in narrowing it down.

If it has a rounded top distributor cap, not the flat one, you can use a testlight and slip the probe inside the boot while the clip lead is grounded. Thay way you short each cylinder one at a time and listen for any that don't effect the engine when shorted. Don't puncture the wire. If you have no access there, you will have to use insulated pliers and pull one plug wire at a time.

Reply to Hammer Time's Post: have to use pliers pull wires off in any certain order like firing order or other . do you think any of this might have to do with oxygen sensor
