I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan (4 cyl, 80000 mi) that has recently started to sputter when you give the vehicle gas. This was not happening when I was in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina but it has started to happen since I arrived in Omaha, NE and put gas in the car that contains ethanol (did not have this in New Orleans but all stations here have it). I have been told that it is a gas problem and that I will not correct the problem probably until I get back to New Orleans which will probably be near the end of the year or early next year. Does this sound right or could it be the fuel filter that needs to be replaced. What is the difficulty level on changing a fuel filter as I would like to do it myself now since my finances are being stretched at this trying time. Thanks for your help.
