I have a 1999 Toyota Camry 4 cyc. It has 88,000 miles on it. The check engine light came on about 6 months ago and the code told me to change the front oxygen sensor.....which I did.....3 months later another code told me to change the other oxygen sensor...which I did...today...6 months later the check engine light came on and the code reads 0440...Autozone tells me that usually is related to a loose or defective gas cap....my codes manual tells me that it could be other things as well as the gas cap....I pulled out the EFI 15 amp fuse to reset the code and 88 miles later....same thing...light came on...0440 code. I have the manual and before I start changing charcoal canister or vapor pressure sensor ..I'll check the vacuum hoses but i think they are ok....WHAT DO YOU THINK? I have read numerous notes on the internet and it appears that many people with camrys have a similar problem but no one really knows why....and taking it to a dealer doesn't guarentee anything...( I don't trust them from experience). How could I rule out Charcoal canister or Vapor pressure sensor? Thanks
