99 Honda Accord EX (4speed AT) while going up hill in reverse it is as though the brakes are engage, the engine really drags as if it were towing something very heavy. Other than that the car runs and drives great. What is going on?

Check the rear brakes shoes to make sure all the brake hardware is in place, if so then lift the front end off the ground and put the car in reverse. If it is working really hard to move the wheels backwards while it's off the ground, it's in the transmission.

Reply to Wes Harrison's Post: One more quick edit to the question please, If I put the car in nuetral while going up hill the drag, or feeling of brakes being applied stops. In response to the idea of lifting the front end and then driving in reverse, it is only while the vehical is going up hill in reverse that I get this symptom, if I simply lift the front end and put in reverse that doesn't seem to be duplicating going uphill does it. Because the car drives in reverse fine on a flat surface.

If it works fine on flat level surface in reverse but the problem is only on an incline, I'm not sure what direction to go as far as the problem without actually experiencing it and getting all the parameters. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
